DJI has been the market leader in drones for some time now and there is always a lot of hype around their new releases. The company have constantly been ahead of the curve with innovation but are renowned for releasing products a little too early, leaving them somewhat lacking.
With the Mavic 3 Cine they have created something quite special, however, there are some noticeable issues with this aircraft. Whilst they can be easily addressed with firmware, it’s quite frustrating given the cost of a unit.
One of these issues is the overactive sensors, the drone can just stop with the sensors turned on, when it’s in open space (over the sea for instance) and this is pretty annoying. The second is the app used to operate the aircraft, they have chosen to use the DJI fly app which is not very good when compared to the Go4 app that was used with the Mavic 2 pro.
Where does the drone excel?
Image quality! We have owned a number of drones and this little machine is incredible for its size. The drone can capture both raw photos and Apple ProRes footage up to 5.2k and it does not disappoint.
We recently took our unit for a test flight during a spell of good weather, here are a few images that we captured.
